About the MD
He was born in the baroque town of Solothurn, Switzerland. After his training in banking management, he went to London and to South Africa to work for a large hotel group in sales and promotion.
The late 1970s saw him back in private banking again, when he was working for Credit Suisse in Geneva.
His career in tourism took off in 1980 with Imholz Reisen, Zurich, and was being continued by Falcon Travel Ltd/Travelhouse Group, a young start-up company back in 1987. He managed to turn Falcon into a major player and specialist for destinations such as the UK, Ireland and Portugal.
Around 2006, he blazed some new trails with brands such as Soleytours for the Middle East, Africantrails and Inditours, and succeeded in generating considerable business up to his departure from Travelhouse in 2010.
Through his active involvement as Director of business development with 1001 Events in Dubai, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan have become very important destinations to work with during the past few years.
