I grew up in an 'airline & travel industry' family, and am fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel far and wide, across 6 continents, from a very young age.
I am a translator by profession (working from French, German & Spanish into English, specialising in travel & tourism content) but have now also set up my 'Home in the World' travel & lifestyle blog and Instagram, which aims to inspire local and global wanderlust.
Apart from a love of all things language, culture & travel, I also have a keen interest in reading, Formula 1, world affairs, meditation & mindfulness, photography, nature, music, interior design and art exhibitions.
Why did you join the community?
Q&AI am looking to build my network in the travel industry, as I have just started my own travel & lifestyle blog and Instagram. I am also keen to explore other opportunities for freelance travel writing, content creation and contributing to existing travel sites.
What is your favorite travel destination?
Q&AI generally like to keep visiting new places, but my favourite travel destination has to be Japan, especially Osaka. I loved it so much, I ended up visiting 3 times in the space of 12 months! Japan really has something for everyone. I love their respectful culture, their serene shrines, their pulsating cities, their food, their attention to detail... it is just the most incredible, mind-blowing place!
Where do you dream of traveling to?
Q&AA lot of places! But currently high on my list are: Bhutan, Brazil, Chile, India (my mother is from there), Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Tibet, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
What was your first travel job?
Q&AI've never really worked in travel, as my background is in translation & language services, but I have been travelling far and wide since the age of 1 because both my parents were in the airline/travel industry, so it has always been in my blood. That's why I decided to finally start my own travel blog and hopefully also get more into travel writing & content creation.
What do you want to learn more about?
Q&ATravel blogging, travel content creation, travel writing/journalism, travel copywriting, networking with other travel creators, journalists & editors

I will definitely be returning to Qatar for the F1. Also very likely visiting Morocco. Apart from that, the options I am currently looking at include Mexico, Türkiye and maybe Bhutan and/or India.

I'm most active on Instagram, but I also post content on Threads, TikTok, Pinterest and, to a lesser extent, Facebook. I do find it hard to get consistent traction anywhere tbh - social media is so hit and miss these days. I have been considering Linked... show more

I came here to also say Thatch! I've signed up to it but have yet to actually use it properly. I know of several content creators who have had success with it, so it's definitely on my list of things to explore.
