My name is Lieve, originally from Belgiam, but live since 2009 in South Africa. I first came out to South-Africa in 1999 with a volunteer project and worked as an occupational therapist in the different townships around Plettenberg Bay. There I met my future husband, Elliot, who is originally from Hogsback but moved to Plettenberg Bay to finish his studies.
In 2001 we moved together to Belgium where I continued to work as an occupational therapist and Elliot worked as a brick layer in a construction company. Our 2 children were born there. In 2009, after years of dreaming and planning, we moved back to South-Africa to start a backpackers. We had the dilemma to start the backpackers in Plettenberg Bay or around Hogsback. But because of the beauty and unspoilt nature of the Eastern Cape we settled down in the rural village of Elundini. It took us 1.5 year to turn an open piece of land into an amazing place we call home and welcome other backpackers to feel at home!!!
