My passion is the exploration of innovation, processes and relationships in the exciting field of travel and tourism. As a geographer (holding a PhD in tourism) I am curious about how human behaviour and societies, economies and ecology interrelates, which provides me with a rather holistic way of thinking and observing the world.
Currently, I’m working as Senior Research Manager at the tourism platform Outdooractive (planning of outdoor activities, travel guide, navigation in the outdoors). What I love about this job is the freedom of science that I can realize by combing technological innovation with a large user group.
At the moment my focus is on:
- visitor management (sustainable distribution of visitors)
- visitor behaviour (facilitating sustainable visitor behaviour)
- smart and sustainable mobility (improving the use of emission free transportation in leisure activities)
- local economies (supporting local economies to better benefit from the digital tourism transformation)
