European parliament has declared 2018 as the year of cultural tourism. Tourist guides are the
most important cultural ambassadors any destination has and it is our job to present culture
in a unique, interesting and fun way, mainly through stories. That is why this year we will be
focusing on the subject of storytelling and future of tourist guiding. Every tourist guide must
posses, beside knowledge of the destination, also the art of presenting the stories and taking
the visitors into the journey of their lifetime. Tourist guide must involve guests into the stories
shared and include all the elements that a good story has. We will present focus on certain
elements of the story and include the vital parts that a great story has to have. Beside
presenting some good case studies, you will also be invited to try and create your own story
with us.

After the presentations you are kindly invited to join us on the Slovenian Professional Guides
Association stand, where netoworking will take place.

After the meeting and networking we invite you to join us at Slovenian Etnographical
Museum where you will experience and co-create your own honey trail through painting the
beehive panels and have the opportunity to experience storytelling in practice.

We are looking forward to welcome you all again in Ljubljana. Also, if you can think of anyone
else, who might find the topic useful, please share the information about the event with them
as we would like to welcome them as well. As usual, we will provide free entry to the tourism
fair to all the atendees, that will confirm their arrival the latest by 25th of January
2018.
