About this event

Come discover Papua New Guinea, the world’s last great frontier and land of a million different journeys. Located in the South Pacific just north of Australia, this special country is home to more than 750 tribes and untouched natural beauty ranging from majestic waterfalls to verdant valleys to coral reefs.

On July 27, the sounds, colors and flavors of Papua New Guinea will come to Los Angeles as the grounds of our venue are transformed into a festival that captures the spirit of Papua New Guinea’s deep cultural traditions.

Sunset views over the Marina, appetizers and cocktails will be on tap as cultural ambassadors from across Papua New Guinea share time honored traditions such as mask carving, coconut scrapping and tribal face painting with interactive demonstrations. A tribal chief from Tari Valley will also share customs of the Huli Wigmen, a proud, flamboyant tribe known for their ornate ceremonial "wigs" with dances and songs fashioned on that of the mating rituals of the Birds of Paradise.

Adventure seekers really won’t want to miss this Travel Massive event as attendees will have the opportunity to enter to win some fabulous prizes, including a 3-night stay at Ambua Lodge, operated by Trans Niugini Tours, and a 3-night stay at Tawali Dive Resort.
