Did someone say rosé? In celebration of the weather finally warming up, Travel Massive and Wine Awesomeness are partnering up to throw an epic party to launch their new rosé and kick-off rosé season at the boutique Arlo Soho. It will take place Wednesday, May 10th from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.
As travelers, we tend to pick up new local lingo wherever we go. One of our favorite new words, “Lekker,” has several meanings in Dutch. It is a common term for anything that is delicious or particularly luscious. In South Africa, it is most often used where Americans would say “cool,” “great” or “awesome!” Now it has a new meaning... a delicious rosé. Either way, you now have some new slang and a new bottle to take with you this summer. This dry but flavorful rosé lives up to its name. With notes of fresh strawberry, delicate rose petals and zippy minerality: it's definitively Lekker.
Lekker is the first 2017 vintage of rosé available in the United States. Wine Awesomeness collaborated with one of the rising stars of the booming South African wine scene, Nico Grobler of Eikendal Vineyards and La Brune Wines to create the rosé. The Eikendal Wine Estate in Stellenbosch is just south of Cape Town where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet the sweeping vistas of the Hottentots-Holland Mountains.
Join us for the rosé-flowing soirée at the Arlo Soho. We'll be taking over The Liquor Bar, The Living Room and Courtyard kicking off rosé season right.
*We'll also be serving a selection of beers and drinks for those who are rosé averse.
