Let's imagine there was a Travel School! What would be taught there and how? How can we (as travel professionals) do our part in making traveling more sustainable and mindful?
Let's explore this idea on October 24 in a hands-on workshop led by our community member Veronika Mercks.
About the Workshop:
Traveling has always fascinated us humans. The longing for new worlds, for adventures, new encounters and perspectives, casts a spell over many and lets us take the step into the unknown. On the other hand, tourism and traveling also creates negative side effects.
In this interactive and creative workshop you will:
- Exchange ideas with other (travel and tourism) professionals about what responsibilities we have in creating and designing travel education
- Create a vision for a successful Travel Education in a group setting
- Create "subjects" and their contents for an imaginary Travel School
- Get inspired about what impact you can have for Travel Education with your own work
- Be part of the beginning of a possible collaboration to create a Travel Education Program together
- Get to know fellow members interested in holistic (responsible, conscious and sustainable) traveling
- Have the chance to exchange, visualize, get creative!

Veronika loves unleashing potential, creating spaces for experiences, initiating something new and being creative. She is passionate about individual traveling, personal development and creating a positive impact in this world. After different jobs in the NGO world, two years working at a school in Hamburg and 9 months backpacking through Africa and India, she founded the educational initiative Navigaia Journeys in 2017.
