Join this Travel Massive interactive workshop event with guest speaker and facilitator Joshua Ryan-Saha to help shape the ways that the Edinburgh Region’s tourism & festival sector can get started in using the latest data technologies and methods to address the sector's most pressing current challenges.
*NEWS* - Due to demand we have increased the capacity for this event and for this reason we're changing venues to the nearby Informatics Forum. Guests will be provided with more information on the event schedule nearer to the event date.
Joshua Ryan-Saha works at the University of Edinburgh where he leads on the application of data-driven innovation for the tourism, travel and festival sectors as part of the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal. He previously worked at The Data Lab where he was responsible for programmes to improve data science skills across Scotland. He joined from Nesta where he established the £10m Longitude Prize, featured on BBC Horizon’s 50th Anniversary Episode.
Event format: Interactive workshop with opportunities for networking.
Who should attend? Those working in tours, visitor attractions, festivals and events, hotels and accommodation, food and drink, mobile and travel tech, those with an interest in data for tourism and/or those already using/managing data for tourism.
After intros and updates from the Travel Massive Edinburgh team, Josh will lead us through an interactive session, with time for a Q&A and information on how we can be kept updated. We'll then enjoy some time for networking and refreshments - more details provided on sign-up.
