I am Soraya, a pensioner age 62, born and bread in Bo-Kaap. I was born in St Monicas Maternity Home, the first maternity home in the area, which is one of the 19 historical sites in Bo-Kaap, that you will see during the tour.
I am a Muslim lady who has lots of experiences in many of my life as a child growing up in Bo-Kaap and with my 2 generations under me.
I am a grandma of 3 grandchildren. I love communicating with people, walking, sharing and caring. Educating on the values, history and culture of my community is so important to me.
I am a registered cultural tour guide and I am looking forward to give you an insight of the authentic Cape Muslim lifestyle in the historical Bo-Kaap.
