Hi, I’m Rodrigo. I work in tourism because I genuinely believe travel has the power to connect people in meaningful ways and create positive impact when it’s done with intention.
I’m the founder of Detours – Porto & Northern Portugal, a company I started in 2013 with the idea of showing visitors a different side of the country — one that goes beyond monuments and checklists. From the beginning, my goal has been to create experiences that feel personal, authentic and respectful of the communities we operate in. For me, tourism only makes sense if it strengthens the territory and the people who live there.
I’ve also been involved in developing and managing Oporto Adventure Tours and Strike Tours. These projects allowed me to explore different dimensions of the industry, from nature and adventure experiences to more dynamic and group-oriented concepts. Working across these brands has given me a broader understanding of how to build tourism products that are both emotionally engaging and commercially sustainable.
Over the years, I’ve become increasingly interested in strategy and value proposition design — how to build tourism businesses that grow without losing their soul. I enjoy thinking about the bigger picture, but I’m equally comfortable diving into operational details to make sure what we promise is actually delivered.
At heart, I care about people, about territory and about doing things properly.
I want to build experiences and teams that make a real difference.
