I'm Paula Barnes, founder of Truly Expat Travel and Singapore Truly — a small media company based in Singapore. I've spent 20 years living across 8 countries, and somewhere along the way what started as a personal adventure turned into something much bigger.

I've lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and beyond — picked up and moved more times than I can count, built a life in places where I knew nobody, and figured out that the best way to really know a destination is to stay long enough to stop being a tourist. That experience is what my work is built on: real knowledge, honest writing, and a genuine love for the kind of travel that changes you.
