I moved to Portugal in 2000 after a successful career in corporate IT in Cape Town, South Africa. Initially the plan was to enjoy a working holiday for six months but I fell in love with the Algarve and opened my own web development business.

After working in web development and digital marketing for 14 years in the Algarve (mainly for international clients) I found myself sitting down in front of a keyboard for 10 hours a day and yearned for the great outdoors.

So, in 2014, I opened one of the first stand up paddle touring companies in the region: Algarve SUP. We offer stand up paddle adventures across the Algarve and Southern Portugal and have founded the region's biggest SUP event: The Guadiana Challenge.

It was a fantastic life but in 2018, I felt the urge to return my focus to digital marketing. Hence the creation of my brand: Algarve Addicts which aims to inspire, entertain and educate visitors to the Algarve region of Portugal.
