About me

Hi, I'm Kerry, a travel writer, publisher, and Bristolian now living in Weston-super-Mare. I run the publishing company, Printslinger (founded by Alastair Sawday and Laura Collacott). Our current titles are The Extra Mile: Delicious Alternatives to Motorway Services, The Coastal Café Guide, and The Farm Shop Guide. We're about to start a new partnership with Wild Guides, a fellow local company, and can't wait to see where that might take us.

I used to be Comms Director at Bristol-based Secret Compass Expeditions, and have worked with the active travel charity, Sustrans. I do everything from project planning and on-the-road research to writing, print production, book layout, and website design. I'm keen to get out more and to do more people-facing work. I'm a Hill and Moorland Leader (i.e. trekking, but not in mountainous terrain), a British Cycling Ride Leader, and an Outdoor First Aider. Though I run Printslinger/ Extra Mile Books I'm 100% open to freelance work, projects, and outdoorsy and non-desk-based opps in 2025 and beyond, others in the team can hold the fort should something meaty come up!
