I’m Jean Bustinza, founder of Viamki, a travel-tech company that helps tour operators automate their operations and grow.

When Covid hit, I was running a tour company in Scotland, working as the main guide alongside a small team of freelancers. Practically overnight, tourism stopped and our revenue went down to zero.

I thought I had to reinvent myself, so I started studying software engineering and statistics and, in early 2023, began building what would later become Viamki. I wanted to solve many of the problems I had experienced myself running a tour company and I launched the first (and, to be honest, quite ugly) version later that year. When I saw that other tour operators found it quite useful, I decided to make Viamki my only focus.

Now we're a small team with clients across 6 countries and continue to grow, helping both travellers and operators have a better experience.
