Travel has been my passion since my parents took me to Georgia and Abkhazia, and then to Uzbekistan as a child. Although I dreamed of becoming a flight attendant and then a ship captain to quench my wanderlust, my career path had initially taken me in a different direction. After receiving a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia (the state, not the country!), I spent 20 years at top advertising agencies in New York before becoming a Travel Advisor.

Some of my favorite destinations are those that allow one to get close to wildlife (Galapagos Islands, Antarctica and South Georgia, Borneo, an African safari) or marvel at wonders of nature (Tasmania, Patagonia, Palawan). Cultures different from my own fascinate me (Bhutan, including homestays with 2 local families in remote villages, Iran and Egypt have been some of my favorite travel experiences to date).
