Gavin has significant experience in the venture capital / private equity industry. Gavin graduated from University College Cork in 1996 and commenced his career with KPMG. He subsequently joined Trinity Venture Capital (LSE: T1VC) in 2000. During his ten year tenure at TVC he held non executive directorships covering a broad range of companies. Gavin lead successful exits in a number of those companies including APT Licensing Limited, sold to CSR plc (LSE : CSR); LeT Systems Limited, sold to Trimble Navigation Inc (NASDAQ: TRMB); Telekinesis Research Limited ("Havok"), sold to Intel Inc (NASDAQ: INTC); Mapflow Limited, sold to SOS Ventures (and subsequently to Lexisnexis Inc (NYSE: ENL)) and Steeltrace Limited, sold to Compuware Inc (NASDAQ: CPWR). Gavin also co-lead the acquisition by The TAS Group Limited of On-Target from Oracle Inc (NYSE: ORCL), was a founding Director of Dalata Hotel Group plc (ISE: DHG), which is the largest hotel operator in Ireland and adviser to Norkom Technologies plc (ISE: NORK) on its acquisition of Data4s. More recently Gavin has been an advisor to Mobile Travel Technologies and an advisor and investor in The Now Factory Limited, which was acquired by IBM (NYSE: IBM) in late 2013. Gavin is now a director of Gempool Limited, a boutique tech recruitment, with a considerable number of Dublin based travel tech clients and also is non-executive chair of Ben’s Scooter Shop.com. Gavin lives in Cork, with his wife and three sons.
