About me

Etienne Salborn is a changemaker-maker and the founder of the SINA (Social Innovation Academy), enabling disadvantaged youth and refugee communities in Africa to unleash their potentials and become self-reliant through social entrepreneurship. The freesponsible and self-organized SINA model has scaled into seven locations, was recognized by the UNHCR Innovation Award and has produced over 40 independent social enterprises. Etienne’s journey began in Uganda in 2006, when he founded an educational sponsorship program for orphans and the NGO Jangu e.V.

Etienne holds a Master’s degree in “Peace, Development, Security and International Conflict Transformation” and has been paying forward his experience as a lecturer at the Management Center Innsbruck, a resource person for the Asian Productivity Organization and facilitating the ChangemakerXchange. He became an MIT D-Lab Innovation Ecosystem Builder and won the 2018 Evolutionary Future Challenge.
