Though raised in Switzerland and upstate New York, I've always had a professional and personal interest in Latin America. I graduated from Tufts University with a double major in International Relations and Latin American Studies, and have substantial experience living, researching, and working with non-profits throughout Latin America. I began working with an organization called Investours in 2011 and served as Program Director for two years before founding the social enterprise, Human Connections, in June 2014. Life experiences since then include getting married, having a baby, and creating a responsible tourism-inspired property called Villa Tayrona - all while at the helm of an organization in which I believe passionately.
I'm excited to apply for the Social Entrepreneurship in Tourism Competition!
I live in a travel destination and honestly, it's a paradise! This is my favorite by far.
The list is long! Vietnam, South Africa, and Brazil are perhaps the three places I'd most like to visit
I worked for a microfinance travel organization called Investours, which was a pilot program (that ultimately failed but we learned a ton!) born out of a Harvard University classroom
What opportunities for (virtual) travel services will emerge because of COVID-19?
Community, empathy, growth
