Hi all, I am the co-founder of TheVoyageCo. My background is building tech platforms at scale. We are a team of passionate people who want to make a different on how people experience travel and ultimately drive sustainable change to overtourism.
The Voyage Co connects travellers with verified locals in Italy for a pre-trip video consultation. Travellers share where they're going and what they care about, and get matched with a real resident, an artisan, a cook, a neighbourhood insider, who reviews their plan or builds one from scratch. The locals set their own rates and keep 80% of every booking.
It's a deliberate, human answer to overtourism and algorithm-planned travel. You can see what we're building at thevoyage.co and the story behind it at thevoyage.co/our-mission
We want to connect with passionate, like minded people who share our ethos on travel. One thing I'd genuinely love this community's read on: as AI takes over trip planning, do you think travellers will value human, on-the-ground local knowledge more or less?
