About me

is a professional freelance writer and owner of Roadrunner Journeys.com. She focuses on creative nonfiction across diverse genres. Her passion for history and learning is the driving force behind her work. Her contributions extend to various online platforms, including Dave’s Travel Corner, Short Weeks-Long Weekends, Miles Geek, and her blog, roadrunnerjourneys.com. She is a member of the Midwest Travel Network.

Her immersive experiences spanning Europe and the U.S. underscore her commitment to her craft. In 2020, she photographed all 67 Courthouses in the State of Alabama and authored an eBook delving into the 13 NARA Presidential libraries. She has also given presentations about the presidential libraries in Mobile and Birmingham, as well as at the Alabama Supreme Court. In February 2024, Georgia Magazine published her article on the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta.

Among her most cherished assignments are traveling to and exploring presidential historic sites, as well as the 13 NARA Presidential Libraries located in 10 states. In May 2025, she published The Pocket Guide to Presidential Libraries.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Charlene’s avocation lies in history and its profound lessons. She is committed to preserving and disseminating historical narratives, which underscores her as both a writer and a custodian of invaluable lessons from the past.
